File Storage

Answers to your storage options on campus.

DO NOT save files to the desktop or on local drives. Files saved in these locations will be deleted when the computer is restated!

Floppy Drives
Not all of our computers are equipped with 3.5" floppy drives please confirm with a lab attendant before using.
Floppy disks are the least reliable method of document storage and we recommend that you always backup your important work with a least two different mediums.  Consider using some of the other options for a backup.

CD Burning

RW CD drives are available for student use in the Pioneer drop-in lab and classrooms 113 and 200B & D and the Library drop-in lab and classroom 117.

USB Flash Memory

Besides the tower check the monitor and keyboard for USB port connections available on all of our computers.  This is one of the latest digital data storage solutions and compact memory sticks offer a wide capacity range.

COCC Server
Students are allowed 200MB of disk space on the COCC server with your Network Account! You will be warned when you have reach 190MB.  After you have logged in, save to the "My Documents" folder on the desktop.

Zip Drives
New computers on campus DO NOT have zip drives.
Warning!

250MB zip drives are only available Pioneer 113.
